The MACH Alliance

For Future-proofed, Best-of-Breed, Enterprise Stacks.

The MACH Alliance presents and advocates for an open and best-of-breed enterprise technology ecosystem. The ecosystem technology is: Microservices based, API-first, Cloud-native SaaS and Headless.

Enterprise suites are no longer the go-to and safer choice. The go-to choice is now the MACH ecosystem. It is agile and nimble. And it’s always up-to-date.

Enterprise tech is either MACH or it is not. It is either composable or it is not.

What is the MACH Alliance?

The MACH Alliance is a group of independent, future-thinking tech companies advocating for open, best-of-breed technology ecosystems that have the capacity to propel current and future digital experiences.

The group has the following manifesto:

Modern technology has evolved, enabling new ways to think about and do business. The MACH Alliance was started for this reason – to help companies take advantage of the most innovative and flexible enterprise technologies available and to break the release cycle.

The MACH Ecosystem

Individual pieces of business functionality that are independently developed, deployed and managed. Together they form the whole, but each microservice is designed for a specific feature, so that they can be easily adapted depending on the needs of the organisation.

All functionality is exposed through an API. This means that each of the microservices and applications are connected via APIs – how they essentially talk to each other. They determine what data is required for the functionality.

Cloud-Native SaaS

SaaS that leverages the cloud, going beyond storage and hosting, including elastic scaling. Cloud to cloud connection is easier for organisations to achieve and includes automatic updates.

Front-end presentation is decoupled from back-end logic and channel, programming language, and is framework agnostic. Implementing any change doesn’t result in downtime for your business.

MACH Technology

MACH technologies form the blueprint for the architecture that all businesses should be embracing.

MACH technologies support a composable enterprise in which every component is pluggable, scalable, replaceable, and can be continuously improved through agile development to meet evolving business requirements. By making the different elements of your experience modular they become swappable, which means you can innovate faster and rapidly deploy new features.

This means that MACH is not an all or nothing game. As it isn’t a suite of specific technologies, it allows for modular introduction. Opting for a headless front-end frees commercial and marketing teams and de-risks any future changes to the back-end.

The needs of enterprise businesses are no longer catered for by legacy software. Today’s businesses need powerful, dynamic solutions that are reliable and flexible. MACH offers an architectural blueprint for designing and building digital experience solutions.

Businesses now have separate building blocks which can be used to build solutions that work for the needs of their business. Now every component is pluggable, scalable and replaceable. Crucially, each and every element can be continuously improved through agile development to cater for any changing and evolving business requirements.
