Wrapping up 2025. Looking forward to 2026.

DTB End of Year 2025

As we complete another orbit of the sun, it’s time to reflect on what we’ve achieved at DeeperThanBlue in 2025.

David Royle presenting at DeeperThanBlue's Agentic AI Event in London. We continue to work closely with our vendor partners to stay ahead of the curve in the technology space we work in. Thanks to IBM, we have hosted in-person events in Sheffield and London where we helped delegates understand the potential of Agentic AI. These included fascinating insights from Carolyn Shepherd (Emmeline.AI), Duncan Payne (Zoo Digital) and David Royle (Tanhill.AI) into where AI is making a real difference in business, as well as deeper dives into the technology from IBM’s experts, Mark Ketteman, Dan Laycock and Matt Newton.

DeeperThanBlue SORT ModelIBM also invited us to present at the AI Summit in London in July, where we talked about the process of how DeeperThanBlue works with clients to identify potential AI use cases with our SORT model and how discovery workshops help customer start the journey to build a minimum viable AI product before progressing to scale out.

On the Commerce side of the business, in September BigCommerce invited us onto their stand at eCommerce Expo in London to present a case study on our work with one of our long-standing clients, Howarth Timber and Building Supplies. As part of our ongoing development of Howarth’s eCommerce site, we have introduced several new features to help them stand out from the crowd. These include real-time data management and a staff self-service portal. See some of these developments here:

Congratulations to Howarth on recently winning the Builders Merchants Award for Best ‘Online and Digital Strategy’ for their site.

Further details of the Howarth project, and some other client success stories can be found in our recent case studies:

Towards the end of the year, we launched a campaign to highlight the risks to businesses who cling to legacy IT infrastructure and the importance of application modernisation. Some of you may have received a little gift in the post! If you have concerns about outdated IT systems and applications, send me a message, and we’ll drop one of our gifts in the post to you!

Along similar lines, we have worked with our distributor partner, Arrow, to raise awareness of this issue. Hot off the press is our webinar talking about the Modernisation Imperative, in which we talk to Doug Coombs from IBM about how businesses should adopt an approach to infrastructure modernisation which is intentional by design, aligning technology, people, and processes from the outset to deliver sustainable business outcomes.

We’ve had an interesting year helping clients move into the cloud with workloads and new solutions being deployed on Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud and AWS.

For the second year in a row, we have been awarded Cyber Essentials Plus status, recognising our commitment to enhanced organisational cybersecurity.

If you have a bit of time over the next few weeks, you might want to catch up on some of our latest content.

Looking forward to 2026, we predict that AI, in the form of Assistants and Agents will take a firmer foothold in business, but we’re equally aware that there are companies out there that are still making their first tentative steps into the AI world. We’d been keen to encourage these companies to work with an agency (ideally DeeperThanBlue!) to develop their strategy and use cases before they go too far into the implementation stage.

B2B Commerce will continue to evolve as B2B buyers expect more of a consumer-like buying experience from their suppliers, and great customer experience offers merchants who adopt this approach an advantage over their competitors.

In the area of Cloud, we believe that attention will be placed on cost optimisation, especially given that around 30% of organisations annual cloud expenditure is wasted, we also predict more of a shift to hybrid environments split between on-premise and cloud. The impact of containers and Kubernetes will continue to be felt as businesses seek to deploy, scale and manage containerised applications.

All areas of our business will see technological changes – Cloud, eCommerce, Analytics, Integration and Application Development, and we will keep on top of all these developments and help clients, new and old, benefit from these developments.

As a side note, you can rest assured that our support teams will be operating as normal over the Christmas and New Year period against SLAs to help keep your businesses running smoothly

In the meantime, we wish you all a season filled with joy and look forward to exciting opportunities ahead!

Best wishes,

The DeeperThanBlue Team
