DeeperThanBlue on the UK Government’s G-Cloud 14 Framework
Talk to us about your requirementsWhat is G-Cloud 14?
G-Cloud 14 is the latest iteration of the UK Government’s cloud computing procurement framework, managed by the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) — an executive agency of the Cabinet Office. It provides public sector organisations with a straightforward, compliant route to procure cloud-based services, covering hosting, software, and support.
The framework removes much of the administrative burden typically associated with public sector procurement. There is no OJEU process, no invitation to tender, no request for proposals, and no lengthy negotiation. Buyers simply search the Digital Marketplace, compare services, and award contracts directly — saving time and cost.
G-Cloud 14 launched in November 2024 and runs for 18 months, with G-Cloud 15 set to follow in April 2026. Since G-Cloud was first introduced in 2012, the framework has generated over £2.3 billion in commercial benefits for the public sector — an average saving of £192 million per year.
