What was the objective?

With numerous data sources, they wanted to create a data warehouse to provide a central repository for all company data and introduce a way of surfacing this data in a usable way.

Through previous conversations with DeeperThanBlue, Kitlocker was aware of our capabilities in data analytics and our understanding of the different options for dashboards and reporting.

What was the solution?

Having made a start on the BigQuery Implementation, they sought the advice of DeeperThanBlue’s Analytics team on getting the most out of the tools available. We were able to set up their data warehouse drawing on multiple data sources (including Kitlocker’s bespoke ERP system, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Fresh Sales CRM, Fresh Desk Ticketing and Klaviyo) and integrate this into BigQuery to surface exactly what they needed to be reported.

In addition to this, we assisted in the recruitment process for a new Data Analyst role for the Kitlocker team and continues to provide mentoring to the Analyst as they develop their role.

Having established BigQuery as BAU, DeeperThanBlue also helped Kitlocker to introduce PowerBI and Looker Studio for business analytics and reporting and integrate Google Analytics and Google Search Console into their eCommerce environment.

What was the outcome?

As a result of our work, Kitlocker now have a ‘single source of truth’ in the form of their data warehouse, from which they can interrogate business information via user-friendly dashboards, visualisation and reports. This has led to process streamlining and automation, has enabled greater scrutiny of all available data and resulted in improved overall performance.

The integration of Google Analytics and Search Console has given their eCommerce platform an extra layer of versatility, enabling more accurate forecasting, budgeting and planning, and helping with stock management.

It is true to say that, in this case, the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Google Analytics and Search Console could have added value if used in isolation, but by bringing them into the eCommerce environment, they are contributing to real-time decision making and increasing the effectiveness of the online eCommerce business.
